Blue Eyed Sun launch Doodle Girl licence at PG Live

Blue Eyed Sun are launching a gorgeous new range of hand-finished greeting cards under the Doodle Girl brand, which was originally brought to life in a series of books published by Simon & Schuster.

This delightful, cute new collection is based on original artworks by artist Marnie Maurri, creator of Doodle Girl, and is hand finished with biodegradable flitter and jewels. There are 24 Everyday and 12 Christmas designs available to choose from with further 24 Spring Season designs out soon. Each card comes wrapped with a colour co-ordinated envelope. All cards are 150mm square, ordered in sixes and all paper used is FSC certified. Trade price is £1.35, RRP £3.25.

Blue Eyed Sun is a previous Henries Award winner in the Best Cute Category and MD Jeremy Corner said “We absolutely love these Doodle Girl designs. They each have a story to tell and are fun and very cute." Buyers can see them first on Stand 524 at PG Live 2019.

A magical brand celebrating the power of imagination through doodling, Doodle Girl was conceived by Marnie Maurri alongside accomplished authors Lindsay Taylor & Suzanne Smith.  The brand combines lyrical wording with clever collage, resulting in a colourful, adventure-filled world.

Illustrator Marnie said “I’m so excited by how Blue Eyed Sun have translated my designs into such a beautiful range.  The fact that it’s manufactured sustainably is the icing on the cake!”  The greetings cards are the first products to be launched in a range of sustainable products licensed by Doodle Girl, which is represented by Nutmeg Licensing.

LSA win iF Design Award with new CANOPY collection

LSA International are pleased to announce their CANOPY collection, launched in collaboration with the Eden Project, has won an iF DESIGN AWARD 2019.

Assessed on criteria including innovation, functionality, aesthetics, responsibility and positioning, CANOPY was named the winner of the Serveware, Product discipline in the Household/Tableware category.

Founded in 1953 and presented by Germany’s oldest independent design organization, the iF DESIGN AWARD is internationally recognised as a sign of design excellence. A jury of renowned experts in design, industry and architecture from all over the world select the winning entries from over 6,000 highly-competitive submissions.

CANOPY explores the concept of transformation and embodies the environmentally conscious act of taking discarded material and turning it into something useful; utilising materials and production techniques that ensure minimum impact on the environment. The product range is centred around the concepts of hydration and propagation, including drinkware, terrariums, self watering planters and vases. The dome-shaped designs reflect the form of the Eden Project’s Biomes, and the collection name CANOPY is inspired by the idea that together we all live as one community under the same canopy.

Each item within the range is handmade from 100% recycled glass.  Agglomerated cork (made from waste cork) is also used as a key component in selected items: not only is it impermeable, it is also a natural, recyclable and sustainable material. CANOPY packaging is recycled and recyclable, printed with organic vegetable inks and finished with natural glues to further reduce the impact on the environment.
